The centeral figure, of course, is the Pyramid of the Sun. If you get there during one of the equinoxes, you will see the shadow created by the steps align with the serpent heads at the end of each corner to create a continuous snake! Oh, and if that's not cool enough, the steps (very very steep) number 365. Neat huh?
...and just HOW steep are the steps?

Here we have the ball court where the Mayans played a killer game (litereally...) of soccer. Cool echo effects in here too. The acoustics are amazing!
And the temple with the columns that contained the statue on the right. One theory states that the plate on the statue was to hold the sacraficial offering for the gods.
And wrapping up this tour, we have a building called the observatory and an example of one of many beautifully chiseled stonework depicting a Mayan warrior.
So there you go! If you get the chance, you should really really go here. You really can't
tell just how huge these ruins are unless you're there and you really get the impression of the
power these people must have had to be able to build pyramids and temples of this calibur.
