Just as sweet (how’s that for a segue?) here’s some cupcakes being baked at my kitchen by Judie for a wedding tomorrow. Mmmm…oven fresh cupcakes…next to my cameras…aaa…2 great things together at last!!! :)

Went to the park with Jane and Heidi. Of course I took my film camera but I took my GF1 digital camera too! She was getting tired of getting photos taken but I still managed to catch some great smiles! :)

Just having some fun “aging” photos. A new roll was developed but it’s still drying so you get this one for today. Shot a month or so ago on Kodak Ektar 100 :)

Just one photo today since I need to go back into the office for an evening conference call. Gonna be a doozy… Can’t…wait… Anyway, this is one of the only 4 frames that came out from the roll yesterday due to my camera crapping out on me… Shelly at the wine bar talking to her sister :) I think it turned out real nice.

Not sure if the issue is with the camera or the lens (that contains the shutter)…either way it’s not automatically cocking the shutter when I wind the film crank like it’s supposed to… So I need to remember to do it by hand. I figured this out AFTER I burned through another roll again…which I am now reluctant to process since I think the entire roll is going to be blank… *sigh*…oh well. What you get with a 42+ year old camera…

Just playing around. This was shot back a few months ago. Decided to fool around with it a bit. It’s…interesting :)

I realized I never formally introduced my new camera besides a crappy shot from my phone last week on Facebook. So. Here she is. The “new” Mamiya C33 Twin Lens Reflex camera with a Mamiya Sekor 80mm f/2.8 shooting lens. On the right there, you see the Voigtlander light meter that I have inserted into the flash hot shoe.

The fun thing about the waist level finders on these medium format cameras is how cool it looks looking at the scene through the ground glass. The image is flipped but it has this…3D look that you just don’t get from a normal viewfinder. Really neat. Mara mentioned this type of shot the other day so I thought I’d give it a shot :)

Went to a show last night so these didn’t go up for yesterday. My ears finally stopped ringing…

This was the last roll from the new camera that I developed before leaving last night. The geese by the lagoon are EVERYWEHRE… But I like this shot. Kinda has a “3D” feel doesn’t it? Very nice classical renderning by a classical lens.

The odd shape of the Peter B. Lewis building over Freiberger Field at Case.

The Church of the Covenant on Case Campus. This camera definitely has a more “classical” rendering with an older lens. But I kinda like it.

There are these random statues in little corners around Wade Lagoon. This shows some of the lens distortion due to the lens being…well…from the 60′s and doesn’t have the super sharp rendering of today’s modern lenses made for digital cameras. Much “softer”.

So here are 4 shots from yesterday. 1 slide film shot and 3 from the new camera!

Got my first slide film back. They look great! Granted it takes a while to clean off the dust specs but now I know why slide film is a popular choice still for pros. Have to make sure you get the exposure right but when you nail it it looks awesome. Took almost 2 weeks to get it developed though.

From the new camera. Harkness Chapel at Case. I never really noticed the really nice architecture there. I have to go back again. Obviously this has texture work done.

The wall of the new addition to the Cleveland Museum of Art. I’m not all sold on the whole “stripe” theme…however, I am very excited to see the next gallery open soon!

Oh, and so far very happy with the way the last roll of film turned out with the new camera!

More shots from the new camera. Only got 5 shots from this roll due to film jam. This one turned out good. Added some “mood”.

This is what happens when film gets jammed and I have to force the shutter to trip twice. A multiple exposure shot. But this shows both the original part of the Cleveland Art Museum and the new addition currently under construction. See why I’m not sold on the stripes? Well…interesting shot none the less. A lucky accident.
