Start of a 3 day weekend! Yaaaaaaay.
So I realized that I really haven’t played with my remote flash unit much so today I quickly setup a scene on my dining room table and played around with it a little.
I like to call this “These are a Few of My Favorite Things” :)
Now for basic technical info…
This was shot at 70mm 1/250 f/4.0. I had a black cutting board in the background and a white foam board on camera right for a slight bounce onto the Johnny Walker. The flash had a diffuser on it and was held probably a good 2 feet below the front of the lens pointing up so the table blocked most of the light. The rest was getting the angle right so I can illuminate the symbol on the Remy Martin bottle. Now, I did do a quick blend job in Photoshop to bring out the 2 bottles in the background juuuust a little bit. I took another photo where the flash was pulled back a bit to get more illumination on the bottles in the background and then, in Photoshop, I simply used a layer mask and a soft brush at about 40% opaqueness to bring out the bottles.
I won’t say this is a masterpiece. But not bad for a quick 15 minute job :)
