So…I was lying in bed around 3am trying to sleep and failing when I looked out the window and saw some really cool cloud formations with the moon behind it.

I figured what the hell so I went downstairs and decided to give my camera some love that I haven’t given it in 2 weeks. I set up the lens and the tripod and the remote trigger and went out back to take the shot. But by then the clouds cleared up so I had a perfect opportunity to see just how well the new 70-200mm f/2.8L can do.

It did a great job getting this shot of the moon and all the details! I have cropped it quite a bit to get it this big even at 200mm but the details that it DID get are pretty impressive I think. I know everyone takes photos like this but I personally haven’t and I’ve always wanted to so it was neat for me!

I also decided, since I was outside anyway, to take a shot of the backyard itself. So here’s a shot taken at around 40mm using the 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at f/10 and an exposure of 30 seconds.

Ok. Now I’m going to try to get some sleep again. I’ll probably get up at like 9 after less than 4 hours of sleep, get breakfast, and try to stay awake for the rest of the night so I can sleep and be ready for Monday… Ugh…I HATE this…

…it’s 4:30am and I can’t sleep. Jet lag. Every single time. For godsakes…

Anyway, Saturday was travel day for me. Most of the time spent at Narita airport, on the plane, and Newark. Once you’ve seen one airport you’ve seen them all…soooo no real inspiration for a photo. So here’s a shot of the ceiling of Narita Airport’s departure terminal.

It was kinda neat looking.
