The best thing about The Met is they allow photographs. No flashes though. But otherwise it’s ok. And this gave me a wonderful opportunity, not just to look at some of the greatest artwork from all over the world, but also to really get some nice shots of some of the interior. Sure there are people in almost all the photos but, I think the wide angle lens really gives you the sense of scale. This museum is BIG.
Also a quick techie note. Just like with the shot of the Great Hall that I posted the other day, all of these were taken with the Canon 10-22mm ultra wide angle lens on the Canon 50D. Most, excluding the outdoor shot and the armory and the atrium, were shot at around ISO 1000 to ISO 1600. All handheld as tripods are not allowed. Some tweaking was done for exposure and contrast as well as some vignetting for a nice effect. However, I didn’t want to mess with how The Met wanted to present its museum to the public so nothing will be removed from the shot including people and that bright red exit sign that you’ll see in one of the shots below…
