Coming home!
Man oh man is it good to be at the airport. This means I’m just THAT much closer to getting home. It was a long trip and, sure, there was vacation involved too but still, 3 weeks is a long time to be away.
Thing went pretty smooth but with a few bumps along the way.
No one told me or got info to me that Continental moved to Terminal 1. Dammit. Same with Delta… Dammit… So all 3 of us get off at Terminal 2 and walk around and realize that the ticket booths are missing. Great… So then we had to drag our heavy luggage onto a bus and eventually (after a few mishaps) made it to Terminal 1.
The good part is, I can get into the NW lounge here even though I’m flying Continental. It’s a bit of a walk from here in the lounge to my gate but I’ll take it. So much nicer and calmer and quiet in here. And the beer pouring robot helps too. Mmmmmmm…Asahi. I think I’ll go get another glass when I’m done typing.
Unfortunately Continental seems to be cracking down on the whole “overweight luggage” thing. Up until now, as long as I was Platinum, I didn’t have to pay if over 50lbs. NOW they are telling me that’s only for Platinum One Pass members and not North West’s World Clubs. Dammit. Come on…. I NEVER had to pay until today. But I was 10lbs over so I did. It was only ~$30 anyway.
So here I sit in the lounge killing time. Flight won’t leave for another 2.5 hours yet. I get to look forward to a nasty 4 hour layover in Newark too. Blech. But it was either that or try for the 1.5 hour layover in Houston (too risky for even me) and if I don’t make it, then it was like a 6 hour layover there. So I took the Newark flight. Not sure what I’m going to do there but I’ll think of something.
Now to upload a few movies to my PSP and relax for a bit.
Man…it’ll be good to get home…
