Update from Japan – search list too
Not that there’s anything much to say.
The flight was long. Made much longer due to the weather. Newark cancelled TONS of domestic flights but thankfully they kept the international ones. Unfortunately because we had to get towed out to wherever they spray you down with that anti-freeze stuff, we didn’t take off for about 2 hours after the doors closed. Then from there it was a 13 hour flight so yeah…it was long.
I DID get lucky since the middle seat between me and the guy next to me was open so that was nice. Alas, it all evened itself out with a screaming child diagonally behind me. SCREAMING. The parents were very young (actually…mom was a hottie…) and obviously very tired. Of course, that also meant, to the absolute annoyance of everyone around us, they were either truly asleep or was pretending to be asleep and ignoring the child. Yeah. Do that at your own place ok? Not on a plane!
Anyway, I managed to make it to the hotel just fine, did some e-mail, grabbed a bite to eat at the convenience store around the corner, and I’m now watching some TV before passing out soon.
Oh. Thanks for everyone who sent me suggestions on how to lighten my luggage. I really do appreciate it! I did manage to lighten it up a bit but it was still 56lbs. Good thing I’m platinum elite and my maximum weight is up to 70lbs. I COULD have split it up into 2 checked luggage but I just didn’t want to deal with 2 pieces in the train stations, especially Tokyo Station. Though I did bring my 29″ luggage this time so it was pleny difficult to drag around. Like I couldn’t fit it through the ticket gates at the station. Had to turn it on it’s side and pick it up. Bah….
Thankfully this isn’t a normal occurance.
Oh, and finally, another list of weird stuff people are searching for to find my blog after the cut :)
