Packing for 3 Weeks

Sucks.

Especially since it’s 2 weeks of work and 1 week of vacation. Which means I can’t really wear the same thing the entire trip. Bah.

I don’t really know how much further I can cut down the weight. Keep in mind, just removing 1 item like the pair of jeans is NOT going to make a significant enough difference. Also, I will not have an iron handy and the pants press only works so well with stuff other than shirts in my room.

I also do not have a coin laundry handy as it’s a good 10 minute walk to the place and it only has like 2 washers… Oh, and I don’t get reimbursed for dry cleaning or laundry service so I try to keep it a minimum…

I am also putting all of this inside of my large 29″ luggage as opposed to the usual 26″ one.

Now, saying all of this, if you can think of ANY way to lighten the load I’m all ears. These are everything going into the luggage that I swear weighs like 70lbs….

2 full suits
4 dress shirts
2 polo shirts (for when I only go into the office as opposed to have a meeting)
1 pair of khakis
2 pairs of jeans
4 under shirts
4 black socks
3 white socks (…I like my white socks on weekends…)
4 boxer briefs
4 neckties
3 hankies
5 t-shirts
1 compact nylon duffle
1 ultra thin garment bag (for going home, I can put stuff in here to lighten the load)
1 laptop bag (I use a laptop backpack for travel but I can’t go to a business meeting with a backpack…)
1 windbreaker (going to wear my winter coat there but once there the temperature is far from stable right now…)
1 hoodie
1 sweat shirt
1 black dress shoes
1 small bottle of woolite
1 toiletry bag (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, comb, hair gel, shaving cream, razor, razor refills, nail clipper, travel size sewing kit, small pair of scissors, cologne and that’s it).

That’s it. For 3 weeks. How in the hell am I going to make it lighter? This is pretty compact as it is. I don’t even have 1 week worth of anything. I’m going to have to have the hotel laundry service to my dress shirts once a week, I’ll be washing my socks and underwear in the sink. I have no idea what else to do.

I suppose I can get rid of the woolite and just buy detergent when I get to Japan. Actually I’ll probably do that.

I’m going to be wearing jeans and a t-shirt and a button up over it when I fly so I suppose I can get rid of 1 pair of jeans and a T-shirt but…like I wrote up top, that is not going to make a bit of difference.

I need the windbreaker…in Tokyo they are looking at some nights going down to the 30’s but some nights only going down to 50’s. Spring time…go figure…

And I’m only taking 2 sweatshirts basically.

Help???
