Everything is relative…

…like for example, today is one of the few days where I can actually say with honesty:

“Tonight when I got home, I was glad to find a used dirty latex glove in the kitchen garbage can.”

*ahem*

Allow me to explain.

I came home to an otherwise normal apartment. Dropped off my laptop, turned on the living room light, got a drink, checked my e-mail, and then I went to the bathroom where I noticed the toilet seat was up…

Odd….

I never leave the seat up (yes, I’m a guy and it’s a habit dammit). But…well…maybe I was in a hurry this morning. I just don’t remember. So I forgot about it and went to the kitchen to heat up some leftovers before my conference call at 7pm. Made some food, ate, and then went to throw away the paper plate (again…I’m a guy…and remember about my sink?) and that’s when I saw it. A used filthy latex glove in my garbage can.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwww.

But it’s a GOOD thing! It means a plumber was in my apartment today. Unfortunatley I have no idea if the issue from last Friday got fixed. No notes. No nothing. I guess I’ll call the managers tomorrow. Goddamn I hope the sink is fixed. The toilet seat was probably up since they used it to dump the water out when fixing the sink.

Tomorrow I hope to get my car door fixed too! Wooo! No more opening the door to get into the garage! …well…hopefully. Damn I hope it’s not too expensive.

Oh, and updates will be coming from Japan. I promise. I have until Feb. 6th to update since that’ll be a month since I got home. That and I leave for Japan again on the 10th…and it’ll be weird doing updates from Japan about my last trip.

And goddamn it’s nice to get home at a normal time and get to work at normal time too. It’s 9:30 and I’ve been home for THREE HOURS!! Unbelievable! I even have enough time to watch a movie on DVD! I’ve forgotten what it’s like to have more than a few minutes at home after work before going to bed :)

Anyway, it’s a pointless post really. But hey, not all posts can be meaningful and full of insight and deep deep thoughts.
