Well…here I sit at the company house in Celebration Village, Florida.
Partially it’s nice. I’m relaxed. Watching TV on a really nice flat screen in a big house. Unfortunately, the reason why I’m here rather than out anywhere, pool or otherwise is, for some reason my back decided to give me issues last night… I didn’t do anything wrong I don’t think. We went to the Kennedy Space Center which is about an hour drive away (pictures coming soon) and then to Cocoa Beach and then back to the house. It was a long day but nothing special.
Then last night while drinking and playing cards, all of a sudden my lower back started to get kinda sore…like I was sitting wrong. But less than 10 minutes later it started to hurt bad. I’ve never had back problems before so I had no idea what it was. Alleve worked though and I was able to get some sleep but it wore off around 6am and it wasn’t very pleasant….
So the rest of the gang went off to Epcot while I’m guarding the house so to speak. This blows really…but there’s nothing I can really do.
This is kind of a good thing though…in a way….since another group rented a car and their car is leaking oil so I offered to stay here and make sure the tow truck comes and their rental car company gives them a new car. It’s almost 3:30 but not here yet. Hopefully soon…not that I’m doing anything but if it does come, maybe I’ll go to the pool later…otherwise I’m kinda stuck here. Oh yeah, and the other car that the first group took seems to be leaking oil too since there’s about a cup of oil on the floor in the garage….yay…..
My back is doing better. The Advil I took this morning should have worn off by now and I’m not in horrible pain so I can only assume that’s a good thing. I still feel some pressure in my back but nothing I can’t deal with. Nothing like this morning.
This is also a relief since next Friday I fly back to Japan for a week and a half so I’m looking at a 13 hour flight. Then on top of that I have a trade show Wed. to Friday where I will be on my feet for more than 10 hours a day. My back starts to hurt usually anyway…with a bad back I’d be down for the count. Ugh.
Oh well. The guys will all probably eat dinner at Epcot anyway so I’ll see what leftovers we have here. I probably could have gone to Epcot or at least go to Epcot when the new car comes but I don’t want to risk it.
So far the trip has been nice. The house is very nice and it’s good to see friends I don’t get to see often. We all come from different places now. 2 from Portland, Oregon, 1 from Chicago, 1 from S. Carolina….and I might as well say I’m from Japan with all the traveling. So it’s nice. Granted, I was doing work via my blackberry and such and there were more than once that I was on the phone working things out. But at least I’m not in the office and it’s not on my mind all the time.
*sigh*…hope the tow truck guy comes soon….
